Announced amendments

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for vehicle eligibility for the Roulez vert program will be increased from $60,000 to $65,000 over the next few weeks to reflect inflation.

Rebates for new or used electric vehicles have been revised downwards.

The new maximum amounts will be:

  • $7,000 for a new all-electric vehicle;
  • $5,000, $2,500 or $300 for a new plug-in hybrid vehicle;
  • $3,500 for a used all-electric vehicle.

Transition period

There is a transition period before these amendments come into force.

  • Vehicles registered until June 30, 2022 will be eligible for rebate amounts in effect prior to the announcement of the 2022-2023 Budget.
  • The new amounts will apply to all eligible electric vehicles registered on or after July 1, 2022.

The date of registration of the vehicle and not the date of purchase or order is used to determine the amount of the rebate.
